Hi Maya! I really like both versions of the images you have choose. I think it would be really interesting to see the two images overlapping and mirroring each other kind of like the demo Ed did (maybe during class??) with the famous photo by Dorothea Lange of the women and children during the great depression. (I can not recall the name of the photo).
You are off to a great start, and I am excited to see what you come up with.
Hi Maya, I really like that you are associating the image of a woman with nature. I think that I like the version with the more natural colors more because it helps to make the theme come across more than the inverted colors. I think you're doing great work! Maybe if you wanted to blend the images of the women in more you could add a mask of leaves over top of them.
Maya, I love what you're doing with the sort of inverted color scheme and the mirroring of the image on the top and bottom halves. The two figures balance each other without being perfect reflections, and that goes really well with the tree branches and roots as imperfect reflections of each other
These are so beautiful, Maya!! I love the creativity and colors - My favorite iteration is the first one, on top. I think the darkness really contributes nicely to the concept.
